Meet Our Eye Doctors
Dr. Diana Nguyen
Dr. Diana Nguyen is an attentive, detail-oriented optometrist and her pleasant and approachable demeanor allows her to develop good relationships with patients. She received her doctorate at State University of New York State College of Optometry and completed a residency at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, specializing in primary eye care and low vision.
As a residency trained optometrist, Dr. Nguyen emphasizes maintaining healthy eyes, including the detection and treatment of dry eyes, allergic conjunctivitis, cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease. Dr. Nguyen strives to provide children and adults with clear, comfortable vision through modern, affordable glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Nguyen is an Orthokeratologist certified in CRT, VST, and Wave lenses. She is also a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC).
When she's not treating patients, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling with her family and spending time with her young son and daughter
Dr. Calvin Chan
Dr. Calvin Chan was born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, where he attended Dyker Heights Middle School and Stuyvesant High School. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Integrative Neuroscience from Binghamton University. Dr. Chan received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry, graduating with honors.
Dr. Chan is a member of the AOA and NYS Optometric Association. He has provided care for patients in many settings including primary care, pediatrics, specialty contact lenses, ocular disease, dry eye, and low vision clinics at the University Eye Center at SUNY College of Optometry. During his rotation at NYC Health and Hospitals, East New York he exceled in the management of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. At Ezra Medical Center, Dr. Chan was trained extensively in vision therapy and pediatric eye exams.
Dr. Chan is a passionate and detail-oriented doctor dedicated to providing quality eye care to his patients. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, playing board games, staying active, and cheering on the Brooklyn Nets.
Dr. Sherry Kao
Dr. Sherry Kao is a board-certified optometrist licensed in the state of New York. She received
her Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Nutritional Sciences from the University of
Florida. Shen then went on and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New
England College of Optometry (NECO). During her time at NECO, she was part of the Beta
Sigma Kappa honor society, a Student Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and an
active member of the American Optometric Student Association. Dr. Kao has received extensive
training in the management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular
degeneration during her clinical externship at the Boston VA system and various community
health centers around the greater Boston area. Dr. Kao also has a special interest in anterior
segment diseases such as keratoconus, and specialty lenses including scleral, corneal GPs,
and ortho-k. In her free time, Dr. Kao loves to be active, travel, go to museums and try new
restaurants.
